INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
At the Law Office of Sabrina N. Hannam, LLC we understand that an internship position is an introduction to the legal profession. The Law Office of Sabrina N. Hannam, LLC is a full service firm that offers an opportunity for interns to try our practice group areas and also focuses on other aspects of professional and personal development. The program was developed upon our belief that, to be successful, lawyers need training and mentoring.
The program is designed to provide law school students the opportunity to explore careers in the law providing meaningful and practical legal experience which will generate school credit.
The Law Office of Sabrina N. Hannam, LLC has three internship sessions yearly: spring, summer and fall. This is an unpaid internship for school credit only. Our interns are considered trainees and not employees under the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1973.
The Law Office of Sabrina N. Hannam, LLC reserves the right to terminate a student’s internship at any point for reasons such as misconduct, poor attendance, insubordination or other serious problems.
Upon the offer of an internship, the actual start date will be determined mutually by the supervising sponsor and the student.

THE INTERNSHIP EXPERIENCE
At the Law Office of Sabrina N. Hannam, LLC interns:
- Will experience real work assignments in our practice areas
- Are given, “action” assignments on litigations and transactions
- Form meaningful and lasting mentor/advisor relationships
Chart Your Own Course
Because we understand that many students are uncertain as to the practice area in which they would like to focus, we encourage interns to work on projects from as many of our practice areas as possible to best help them achieve their individual goals. Our program is designed to provide each intern with a customized experience. If an intern’s preferences change over the course of the internship, s/he may communicate that change and we will endeavor to alter the mix of work assigned to that intern going forward creating a customized experience.
The Work
At the Law Office of Sabrina N. Hannam, LLC interns are given responsibilities on a variety of projects, including legal research, drafting of memoranda, motions, briefs and transaction documents.
In addition, interns may also participate in “action assignments” such as negotiations, closings, client conferences and court proceedings. We believe it is important that the intern see as many real-life legal situations as possible. When action assignments arise, we will invite interns to attend and observe, thereby extending their experiences and knowledge.
Pro Bono During Your Internship
The Law Office of Sabrina N. Hannam, LLC strongly encourages interns to participate in pro bono assignments. We are very proud that a commitment to public service has always been deeply ingrained in our Firm’s culture and are honored to provide free legal services to the less-privileged. Interns are able to participate in pro bono work via the typical assignment process, by working on pro bono matters that are being supervised by other lawyers in the Firm, and through a variety of special outreach projects designed specifically for them.
Mentoring
At the Law Office of Sabrina N. Hannam, LLC a mentor and advisor is available to address intern concerns and questions.
Evaluation Process
We know that an important part of the intern’s learning experience is receiving feedback on assignments performed during the summer. Each assignment is evaluated by the supervising attorney, by an informal review with the intern.
Requirements
To be eligible for an internship with the Law Office of Sabrina N. Hannam, LLC, you must be registered as a law student in good standing at an accredited law school. There are no exceptions. The registration must apply for the full duration of the internship.
You must receive law school credit for participating in the program. The amount of course credit to be earned is determined and verified by your school. To receive course credit, you must comply with all school requirements as well as all the Law Office of Sabrina N. Hannam, LLC’s requirements. You should be fully aware of your school’s internship requirements before applying for the Law Office of Sabrina N. Hannam, LLC’s internship program.
How to Apply
Eligible students must submit a Law Office of Sabrina N. Hannam, LLC Internship application. Answers to the questions should be as specific as possible in identifying career goals, expectations and areas of work interest. Your school internship coordinator or your advisor must complete the bottom portion of the application (Course Credit Verification) before submitting it to the Law Office of Sabrina N. Hannam, LLC. Failure to secure and return written verification will disqualify your application.
Once submitted, qualifying applications will be contacted for interviews with the appropriate department’s management and each department will make their own intern selections.
Unfortunately, because of the volume of applicants received each semester, internship interviews are not guaranteed to all who apply. In the event you are not chosen for an internship for the semester in which you have applied, but are interested in re-applying for another semester, you will be required to submit a new application in order to secure accurate and current course certification.
